Have a mani/pedi 24hours before your spray. Make sure you wash off any oils or lotions they put on you as they will act as a barrier against the solution.
Wax, shave, pluck 24 hours prior to spray tanning. Doing these too close to your spray tan session may cause solution to get caught in your pores.
Exfoliate the day before. Use an exfoliant that is great at 2 jobs: scrubbing off the dead skin cells and cleansing any oils or impurities to leave the skin completely bare and naked. I suggest an exfoliating glove or mitt. It assures removal of all dead layers of skin for a smooth even tan application.
For optimum tanning results skin is to be free of lotions, makeup, perfumes or deodorant. These products act as barriers and could leave an uneven tan.
During your spray tan you can wear a bathing suit, underwear and/or bra or nude. Whatever you are most comfortable in. Just keep in mind that whatever you decide to wear you will have those tan lines.
Wear dark loose fitting clothing after your spray to assure that tan will develop evenly and you do not rub off the bronzer onto any of your favorite light color clothing. The bronzer washes off but better safe than sorry.
Once you are ready to shower it is important to NOT use a heavy soap. The residue could strip and fade the tan unevenly. I always suggest to do a thorough rinse and only use soap in the necessary areas.
Moisturize on a regular. Use a nice thick moisturizer that doesn’t contain any heavy oils, parabens or acids that could strip your tan.
Keeping moisturized nourishes the top layer of your skin and prolongs your tan.
Drink plenty of water. Although it doesn’t seem necessary when spray tanning it is so important to keep your skin hydrated. This will ensure a longer tan that will fade evenly.
